Check-ups, Cleanings and Fluoride Treatment

Regular dental check-ups, cleanings and fluoride treatment are essential to your dental health. Patients are often unaware they may have gum disease or decay, because many dental conditions cause little or no physical pain. Coming in for regularly scheduled check-ups helps our dental team catch and correct dental issues early rather than after they turn into big dental problems.

A dental check-up at McCleery Dental in Bend, Oregon includes:

  • teeth cleaning,
  • appropriate x-rays,
  • fluoride treatment,
  • screen for gum disease
  • give proper instruction on home dental care and
  • provide you with excellent preventive dental care in a gentle, attentive manner

We will provide excellent preventative dental care from the moment you walk through the door to the moment you leave with a fresh, clean smile.

Mouth Guards and Night Guards

Mouth guards and night guards help protect your teeth from wearing down as a result of teeth grinding or from damage that may occur during sporting activities. Patients who experience sleep apnea or other sleep disorders usually grind their teeth. Treatment with a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine will not stop the grinding, so it is wise to use a custom night guard to preserve the teeth and protect them from wear, which can be significant and destructive over time. During your routine dental check-up, we will be able to determine if you grind your teeth at night, and if so, can custom-fit a night guard to your mouth to protect your teeth from further damage.

Periodontal Treatment

Periodontal treatment can help to keep your gums healthy and prevent tooth loss. The dental team at McCleery Dental works to provide you with the least invasive periodontal treatment possible.  Periodontal treatment includes periodontal cleaning techniques such as scaling and root planning.  Scaling will help to remove tartar and plaque above and below the gum line. Root planning helps to get rid of rough spots on the tooth root where germs can gather and bacteria contributes to disease.

Dental Sealants

Sealants can help prevent the development of cavities in teeth that might otherwise decay without the extra protection that sealants offer. Dental sealants are thin, tooth-colored coatings applied to the chewing surface of your molars, especially deeply grooved molars, to protect them from the accumulation of food or bacteria that may be difficult to brush away. You can rest easy knowing dental sealant application is quick and painless process.
